Cristina Willard is a visual artist, writer, and contemplative creative based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Working across watercolor, acrylic, collage, and mixed materials, her art is rooted in abstract expressionism and influenced by Buddhist frameworks, including the Five Wisdom Energies. Her intuitive, presence-driven process explores the meeting of color, texture, and emotion through spontaneous creation

Cristina’s work invites quiet reflection and direct experience, often featuring layered imagery—trees, creatures, circles, and fragments—that reflect impermanence, connection, and transformation. In addition to her visual art, she is the author of And If All Was Lost, a lyrical work of prose exploring creativity, grief, and awakening. Through her painting, writing, and art-based offerings, Cristina cultivates spaces of inspiration, intensity, and mindful engagement with the world.

In addition to her visual work, she is currently pursuing a doctorate in education with a focus on creativity research, and developing new projects including a line of art-based products. She is focusing on writing science fiction and speculative novels that question societal structures and everyday assumptions.
